After more than six years away, internationally acclaimed artists Deva Premal & Miten are returning to Australia, their cherished second home. In partnership with Wanderlust and A Sound Life, the duo will bring their Singing Our Prayers tour to three cities — Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay — for a powerful series of live gatherings that blend ancient Sanskrit mantra, contemplative song and ecstatic collective meditation.

In Byron Bay, the experience extends beyond a single evening, with an in-person weekend gathering and retreat at the Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall, culminating in an additional concert on Sunday evening. The retreat offers an immersive deepening of the practice and the profound joy of communal singing and chanting — an experience that has connected Deva and Miten with their Australian audience for over twenty-five years.

About Deva Premal & Miten

With over 35 years of shared life and creative partnership, Deva Premal & Miten have become the most recognisable voices in contemporary mantra music. Their recordings have sold more than 1.5 million albums worldwide and Deva's eponymous 2018 album was nominated for Best New Age Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020.

Both individually and as a duo, Deva and Miten have been consistently releasing music since the 1990s, accumulating billions of streams across platforms — not through the machinery of mainstream pop, but through the quiet, devoted spread of a practice that genuinely transforms.

Tony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle and His Holiness The Dalai Lama have all publicly praised their profound and powerful music.

What to Expect

These are not conventional concerts. Audiences enter something closer to ceremony — evenings woven from beloved mantras including the Gayatri Mantra, original songs, extended moments of shared silence and the unmistakable atmosphere of a room breathing together. Each gathering carries the intimacy of a private meditation and the expansiveness of a communal ritual.

"People everywhere are realising that mantra eases the intensity of daily life," say Deva & Miten. "Chanting works on many levels — lifting the psychic burden we carry as human beings and bringing us back home to centre, back to the inevitable blossoming of the heart."

The Science of Singing Together

Emerging scientific research increasingly supports what ancient traditions have long understood: that chanting and meditation — particularly in community — significantly reduce stress, regulate the nervous system and foster a profound sense of belonging. When a room full of people raise their voices together, something measurable shifts, both within the individual and across the collective.

"This is sacred activism," say Deva & Miten. "Each voice contributes to a vibration that uplifts not only the individual, but the collective — and the planet itself. We are all responsible."
