Did you know your skin is the largest organ in your body and is mostly made up of water?  Adequate hydrations assist the body in flushing toxins, improving one’s complexion and can  reduce puffiness.  

On average optimal water intake for women is two litres daily and for men it is three litres  daily. But even when we are drinking plenty of water a day, sometimes we forget to  take into consideration factors that may dehydrate us. Did you know for every cup of  coffee or alcoholic beverage we need an addition 250ml of water just to compensate  for the diuretic effects? Or for every hour of exercise, we need roughly an additional  one litre of water.  

If you are feeling a little dehydrated, try this yummy drink to boost your hydration  levels. Remember hydration is one of the keys to wellness.

Plant-based Hydration Drink

Ingredients
  • 30ml Aloe Vera juice
  • 3 leaves of mint
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 2 1cm slices of cucumber
  • 1 1cm slice of ginger
  • 60ml coconut water
Instructions
  1. In a blender add all the ingredients
  2. Blend until well combined
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy
  4. Garnish with extra cucumber, lime or mint if you’d like to
