Give your skin a boost with Sally O’Neill’s Vitamin-C packed smoothie recipe

A good-for-your-skin smoothie? Yes please!

With plant-derived Vitamin C from acerola and beets, this nutrient-dense smoothie is the perfect start to your day.

“Vitamin C supports collagen formation and healthy connective tissue important for skin health and provides antioxidant support to protect against free radical damage,” says cookbook author and recipe developer, Sally O’Neill.

Plus, vitamin C is necessary for healthy connective tissue structure and function. Beets also contain folic acids and fibre, making this recipe a nutrient powerhouse to kickstart your morning.

Makes: 1 serve

Cook Time: none

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup of strawberries (frozen or fresh)
  • ‘½ a heaped teaspoon Wanderlust Beauty Mushroom
  • 1 tablespoon organic almond butter
  • ½ tablespoon of hemp hearts
  • 1 small pre-cooked beetroot
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Top with 1/2 tablespoon of hemp hearts.
  3. Enjoy!
